I completely understand your frustration. I don't even want to go into the situation with the prescription writer and the Star Printer. Apparently, no beta testers had Star Printers.
I have tried v6.0.10, and it didn't change anything. I hope there is a final version which fixes both.
The only thing I can come up with now for you would be to set up a standalone computer using v5 connected to the printer. Get it working. Then you could possibly share that driver out. Not sure.
