Ctrl-S works great if you remember to click in another text box, outside of the Social History, before you save. You only have to do this if you have added data to the Social History. It's a bug. Hopefully, with the next release...
Jon Kimball (Jon Bertman's programmer) said at the User's Conference that this is fixed in the new release.
