Riffraff? Let's try to turn this thread on its head.
Perhaps it is the difficult patient that presents the greatest challenge to our clinical skills (and patience). Perhaps it's the "boat anchor" that most deserve our compassion (not coddling). There's been a lot of helpful articles on this issue. Here's one:
