V9 TO V3
The version changes are causing huge errors, which are impossible to fix without support.
Some on these threads are stating the support fixes it, but only after three hours.
Support is not working on the weekend or won't answer calls.
These users that can't update are those who are the best with Amazing Charts, some updating from v3 to v4 right on up the steps.
A HUGE issue is the need for a one day activation in order to install on a new machine. I can't think of any other major company, where you have support for a year to allow updates and upgrades, where you need an activation key. No one will ever convince me this has nothing to do with pirating.
The fact that you can't use earlier backups is unbelievable. I thought support was going to be able to send something to change the backups.
I may be getting this wrong, but I am reading that some can't install over a previous install.
Installations are such that it can be almost impossible to uninstall them. I have once, but it took me four or five uninstalls with special software.
There have always been bugs. We understood that. But, bugs with the installer causing issues with the systemsettings.xml file which most people would not figure out is crazy.
AC really needs to spend ALL their time on this:
1. Allowing users to install over earlier versions with no problems.
2. Allowing users to install on new machines without an activation key. That's a huge problem.
3. Allowing users to use their backups to install a new version and then restore.
All of this should be seamless. I installed to v9.2 using Sandeep (I won't do anything of this magnitude without his holding my hand). Now, I will NOT even attempt to upgrade.
Support needs to be available seven days a week. It should not taking reformatting your entire computer and then three hours with support to install. Installation puts things so many folders, Revo has to rest after the uninstall, if Revo can.
After the upgrade to v9 and above, there have been nothing but complaints, frustration and the need for support to install. Not activation keys, not restore compatibility, but installs, uninstalls, all sorts of changes to make it work. I know that AC didn't see some of this coming, but that doesn't matter. And, you must have come up with this Activation Key. Get rid of it please.
