It looks like you can close out of it, but if you hit the red "X" more than once, the program crashes. The answer is to learn to be patient, and when the print job is done, the window closes automatically.
See, that's how I crash my Virtual Machines sometimes ha. It has to do with the speed of the computer. Get faster computers and the issue will likely disappear.
