I don't think you can really compare incomes -- what matteres is what that income will buy you.
It is unlikely you would be paying your MA's salary -- doctors all seem to be employed by the government.
On the other hand, it is cold and dark there a lot of the year -- rather like Alaska.
There are always tradeoffs.
