I wish I had more advanced warning. This meeting was attended by state representatives of Georgia. Very well done.
This one physician was very upset, and it was interesting because she could have been talking about AC. I mean in a good way as far as how her EMR had to be developed based on Meaningful Use and ICD-10. Among other things where she was having to pay exorbitant amounts of money, she was stating that her EMR was having to rush to develop things which made her EMR buggy and not useable to some extent. She also stated that with each new module, etc., they would charge more money, but then it wouldn't even be out for months.
Everyone was stating all of the issues we have. The basic sentiment was that it hurt patient care, costs money and caused each provider to stay much longer. Most of the providers blamed the government and were upset about lack of communication among the many EMRs and hospitals. Most were extremely dissastified with Meaningful Use. Some stated they were giving up medicine due to government involvement. The number of tweets are incredible.
