I don't think health data exchange is as difficult as the corporate suits make it out to be. Lots of companies make computer operating systems, they all talk to each other over the internet, read files & documents in different formats, and everybody is making money. But there is no compatibility between EHRs, and it's devilishly difficult to move your data to another product.This is by design, IMHO.
