This is a Must-See website with a Must-See video. EVERYONE who owns AC, should see this video. It should also be required reading for anyone working at AC.

When you get to the hope page, please look at the top for the following links:

Town Hall | Event Email Congress | Share Your Story

Click on Town Hall to get to the video. Please watch it. It is an eye opener. Make sure your email your congress person. And, PLEASE, PLEASE, share your story. If you do not, do not complain about our EMR.

In fact, it is impossible to watch this video, without feeling a lot better about our little program. And, while I don't want any other physicians to be going through what we have over the last few years and especially now, it is very clear that AC is having its issues for exactly the same reasons the bigger boys are.

The stories are scary, tear-jerking and horrifying. Some tell of their deciding to retire early due to EMRs. There are three themes. EMRs hurt workflow more than they help, the government, read Meaningful Use, has changed the way physicians care for patients for the worse, and communication between hospitals, clinics and EMRs is severely lacking.

Another major theme, which I think will have some looking at our EMR and our company in a little different light is the following. Meaningful Use 1, 2 and now, possibly 3, forces the EMR companies to devote all of their time to change their software to comply with the government mandates, thereby not allowing them to add new features, debug or beta test properly. We have all known that this is part of the issue with AC, but now you can see it is everywhere. This is a great town hall meeting. It would be very helpful if write one less post and put it in Share Your Story.

It would be even better if every state could organize something like Georgia did. If every state had a physician in the legislature who could be part of the program, give a talk or just be there.

Please check it out.
