Hi... I had a couple of hours to work on the computer today. Good news and bad news.

Bad news... Tried installing as system "Administrator"... no go. Tried creating a new user set as "computer administrator" and installing fro that user... no go. In both cases, tried right-clicking on installer and "run as" Administrator, and also just double-clicking on the installer. Always get the "registry error, Windows needs to run as administrator" message box as soon as Amazing Charts is starting up.

Good news... Tried installing as "main" computer on doctor's laptop with Win XP. Just used his only user that was set up as "computer administrator". Installation went smoothly just as expected (like all other programs that I've installed before on many other computers). Ran Amazing Charts with no problems. Doctor will use that for evaluation for now.

So... this computer that gave me heartache has problems, as many of you have indicated. Funny, but the computer is working just fine every day, and continues to do so, even with this "problem". Also, this computer has critical data and other things that will be a bit of a pain if we re-format the hard drive. Did not try SFC yet, but will do that in the future. Also, any system restore may contain the error, so this may not be a viable option anyway.

I wanted to thank everyone that provided comments to the problem. I've learned a lot about users, administrators, etc in the process. It's always nice to bounce thoughts off others who are experienced with the program.
