I have found that the problem with staff in a small office is it is difficult not to become close, AND most of my staff are irreplaceable.
I know, everyone will say, everyone's replaceable, but it would be hard.
The difficulty is we are not an owner or VP in a company with thirty employees that we don't even know. If their supervisor came up and said that one has been late five times last month, it would be simple to say, well get rid of them then.
