It ends up being a time waster when the price isn't mentioned up front. I don't want to spend a lot of time and energy on a jaguar when I have a vw budget. And while I understand that investing time and energy promotes sales (loss aversion), it's a wasted technique on me. You can't squeeze blood from a turnip.
Besides, having to work at finding out how much something costs automatically puts me in car lot mode, which is my least preferred way of making any purchase.
