AC, I've been begging you for years - please make it easier to send patient lab results and comments. The current system is too hard and error prone (print to Updox then send). Our new physician assistant this weekend printed the labs to Updox, reconnecting the wrong patient, then sent the HIV test results to the wrong patient along with comments. It was read, so a huge HIPPA violation was created which we'll now have to report to DHHS. This is Amazing Chart's fault. It is a flaw in the system. It's been happening for years, and honestly I'm growing tired of it. Amazing Charts needs to invest in things which will actually help our practice, not only things which will make the government happy.
How should this be fixed. Patients expect lab results. When they are signed off, both the comments and labs should be automatically/immediately sent to the patient's portal. If it's Friday night, patients should not have to wait until Monday morning to get results. And there should be no question it is going to the correct patient.
Please please please please please fix this.

Hello Dr. Lee.
The enhanced workflow you describe is on our roadmap for next year, currently assigned to version 10 for next fall. It's a fairly common request and as such has been assigned a high priority. The proposed design will offer you the ability to send an imported item and a personalized comment to the patients portal directly from the sign off screen eliminating the need for you to go through Updox.
Regards, Chris

Agree with the feature need. Nice to hear it is on the roadmap.
I send copies of labs to the portal with personal comments for every lab every patient with a portal.
This is the most time consuming manual work part of my day. I do it myself since i know the consequences of a mismatch or miscommunication. Ability to review, comment, and send to portal would be awesome and is sorely needed.

I second! It is the same as I posted earlier to get "Secure Message" button incorporated in the Message/Reminder and sign off screens I can not agree any more with Dr. Lee above about his concerns about the HIPAA violation risks This issue should be on the priority list Thank you

Glad to hear it is a priority! We have 7 providers, so I could almost eliminate a salary if we didn't have to do this!
