Just wonder if there is a way to format the letter to referring physicians, eg, to change the margins in the page. I have papers preprinted with letterhead and when the letter comes out, the date is too close to the to of the page Thanks

The answer is "No", more's the pity. But there is a workaround:
Click "Edit Sections". Delete the date from the date line, and type it in the address field below, click "Save Changes."
This is obviously not an ideal solution, as it takes away space from the patient's address.
Frankly, the Letter Writer is one of the weakest features of the program, and needs overhaul badly.
Alternately, Amazing Charts needs to devise an interface with a third-party word processor of some kind.

Thank you, bcmd ,for the advise. It would be nice to be able to format the page you that the body, the date, the recipient's name fit nicely in the page. It also be great to be able to change the font or the size. I think the font is a bit too small.

Duke:
I totally agree with you.
It is important for our letters to look professional. Our letters carry advice to our patients that we want them to comply with. They also carry medical and legal data which is judged by our colleagues, and even sometimes by juries.
When someone opens a letter from a doctor's office, they are immediately forming impressions of us, to our benefit or detriment.
The first thing the reader may notice is the quality of the paper and the style of the letterhead. However, we can't use our letterhead because the pre-set formatting is so inflexible. There is not even an option of putting a digital version of our practice logo at the top of the letter.
The next thing a reader will notice (consciously or not) is proper formatting and legibility. Amazing Charts letters don't even meet this basic requirement. The margins are weird, and the typestyle is small and hard to read, especially for our elderly patients.
In this day and age, every person with a computer has some kind of word processing program which will allow them to create a good-looking, professionally formatted letter by default.
In fact, most people actually have to go out of their way to create a letter as crummy-looking as the one created by Amazing Charts.
Please understand, folks, I am an Amazing Charts fan, but this feature is just not up to standards.
