How does one change their avatar? I am trying to, actually my logical rational better half is trying to and I am at her side "helping out"

problem solved!!!!! but to satisfy my wife's curiosity and maintain her sanity would you reconsider??

My Stuff>Edit Profile>Select the radio button next to the option you are using to change your image>Upload image

Did that, clicked browse, found new picture, opened picture to attach, clicked submit and the avatar did not change. Can remove avatar, but when trying to select a different picture vanagon avatar pops up. thanks for your responses!!!

So the Vanagon is not on there now - it is a combine......did you get it to work???

My avatar is still showing up as the vanagon and yes I was trying to change to a combine, but how did you see it Steven??? And no I did not get it to work from what I can see. I think Bert is messing with me.

I apologize to Bert, but this is really strange. on my PC the avatar is the vanagon and on my wife's ipad it shows up as a Montana lawn mower (combine). is there an explanation for this???

Makes me wonder if maybe some of that medicinal things from Washington made it over and you are just hallucinating about the vanagon.....LOL.

Anyway on here it looks like the combine.

P.S. try logging out and then logging back in so the user board refreshes.

And on my laptop, the vanagon is eating the purple flowers that are flowing out of the combine, and beautiful people are dancing all around and...

Yes, you need to clear your cached data. The way the board stores your image is like this **/user/3415.jpg. It's your member number with the .jpg extension. You're seeing the cached version by your browser. Your wife on the other hand is loading it for the first time. So she sees the updated version.

You can just press refresh several times or clean the temp files. I don't know which browser you're using. CCleaner (http://download.piriform.com/ccsetup318.exe) will clean the temporary files and cookies from Chrome, FF, and IE. It's also a useful tool to keep around. It'll also delete other temporary files giving you back some hard drive space.

I have not done that yet, but the Montana lawn mower avatar showed up when i logged in this am, but after I get back from my son's speech on why we should eat insects instead of beef I will clear the data and let you know. thanks sandeep!!!

Steven thanks for the great photos!!!! the "new" vanagon i had as my avatar was the 81 made in west germany which replaced the 67 my grandmother traded in back in the early 80's, and subsequently she gave to me which has a few memories.
Sorry Jon but i can always change the avatar back at some point.
I sort of like the montana weed whacker avatar, now that the wheat is starting to grow again.

I only wish that you could change your avatar for a few posts and then change back or to another - unfortunately when you change it changes all of your previous posts avatar also........oh well.

I must admit I love Google.com with the IMAGES search......
