Leslie,
You are the expert on Paperport. I just discovered it on my Fujitsu tablet.
I want to handle images like I currently handle paper in my inbox. I currently initial in the corner and put in the staff file box to file by the end of the day. If there is anything out of the ordinary, I initial and write a comment or instructions eg repeat chem 7. This is put in a separate box for them to act on in the next hour.
Since there is the possibility that some incoming faxes will go back and forth between my staff and I, I want to have this documented on the image BEFORE they finally file it in AC. I think this is how you prefer it as well.
My question is, which of Paperport or Adobe Acrobat allows me, IN ONE KEYSTROKE to sign and move the document to the staff "to file" box, similar to what I do now with paper. I think I can configure a common "to file" box on the server but am not sure if the macros exist in Paperpoint to sign and move the document in one stroke.
Also, when you make annotations (Paperport lingo) on images, are you concerned that they are deletable even after being saved? It bothers me that the "paper trail" may not exist when I need it.
Adobe 8 is available, on academic discount for $99. I assume this is good enough and I wouldn't need Adobe 9 Acrobat for my purposes. I'd appreciate anyone's experience on this point as Adobe 9 is $300. Paperport is $99/licence.
Thank you all for any input,
Chuck
