I had 2 phone lines and internet, all over fiber.
Faxes came in on a number that was ported to Updox, and sent out from the office via Updox.
I've decided to solve the problem by cancelling Updox and abandoning my fax number all together (recently retired from primary care, saves $190/month).
Cancelled my back line and porting my office number to my cell phone (as a second number, costs $15/month).
I've re-discovered Paperport, and think I will use that to manage PDF's.
One problem left to solve is how to transmit/send records out in a Hipaa compliant way.
I may have to ask patients to waive Hipaa and send their records by email.
