Naeem, thanks for the input! I do have a dedicated line for the Fax Number, guess I should have wrote that previously. Brother used to have a way to set up fax receiving after a certain number of rings but not sure that is still available. As busy as our fax is, I don't think that would work.

I have seen efax and looked at cost and did not see where it was a cost advantage. An extra phone line with my cable internet provider was not very expensive.

The faxes come in to the Brother MFC in small folders, get relabeled and imported into the pt's chart. My staff is able to sort and cut documents with the Brother program saving space (no cover page is saved, that kind of thing). We have been using the Brother this way for over 10 years. I tried to change to an HP machine and it was horrible.

We did have it set up where you could see a preview of what was coming in, like seeing the 1st page of the fax. For some reason, that feature is not currently working and MY IT guy hasn't had enough time to play with it and figure it out.

At present, I have a Fujitsu scanner (very old) for big files which is at a back desk. There is a small brother scanner for insurance cards and licenses on one side of the front desk (Check in/out). There is a larger Brother MFC 5850 as a shared printer for everyone, placed at the front desk between 2 employees. Then there is a Brother MFC 2820 which is the dedicated fax/scanner on the opposite side of the front desk. Currently single provider with 3 employees.
