I immensely enjoyed reading the advice on scanners from apricot, wcoghill, and scslmd. I purchased a Fi 5110 C from PCNations. But, I have one small problem. When I am scanning within AC, I did not get the option of Black&White. Per excellent directions of Apricot, I select Tiff, Single page and click Scan Image. A new window opens up, I select letter size, but no B&W. My only choices are grayscale and 4 bit greyscale. When I use the scanning software outside of AC, the Twain window gives me the full range of the B&W, greyscale, 4 bit greyscale, 1/2 tone, color, etc. I talked to Fujitsu tech support who said it was not their software. They said that somehow AC "filtered out the B&W option." I talked to Carlos of AC who did not know the answer and suggested I ask someone who is using a Fujitsu scanner. Any suggestions ?
