Marty, I might have to bite that bullet soon.
Bert, I tried googling it too. I'm afraid it's got something to do with the server computer which I'm not willing to start poking it's registry.
For now I reset that user's password, and I've since not been able to generate the error myself. The user is on vacation now so they haven't been able to either.
