Yea number 1 is a strange issue. So you can browse everything fine locally but through RDP you can't access the Internet in the session?

Did you check the Internet Options in IE?

Tools > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings

Make sure "automatically detect settings" is unchecked and that the proxy box at the bottom is unchecked.
