Hi chock
Here is how my day goes with AC - Version V 5.0.29
I have a Server ( which has AC) which acts as my Main computer.
My MA's have Desktop computers that act as workstations to access AC fro my Server.
The MA who runs the floor & rooms patients in has a Laptop which she takes in the patients room - does the chief complaints, vital signs & forwards the CHART to me in my INBOX.
I go into the patients room examine the patient, take any additional history I need, send electronic prescriptions while in the room & either complete & sign the chart in the exam room (10% of the time)or FORWARD it to my inbox for completion at a later time.
All messages received by phone or fax are dealt with by the MA's if my input is not needed or sent to my MAILBOX if my input is needed.Messages appear as(Patient: XYZ), CHARTs for completion appear as CHART: Patient XYZ withoput the brackets().
Most of my messages are dealt with inbetween patients or any time I get to reply the message.
The uncompleted charts are completed whenever I have a break during the workday or completed at the end of the day.(90%). AC keeps the DATE & the TIME the patient was first signed in by the MA. You may alter the date & time if you wish by the ALTER DATE BUTTON above the PHYSICAL EXAM button
If you decide to handle messages or complete the charts the next day or whichever day you - the MESAGES & the CHARTS are still in your INBOX until you decide to DELETE them.
All my faxes come in as PDF files & I use Adobe Acrobat professional to fill out any forms & electronically sign them & fax them.
Any prescription refills sent to my inbox by my MA that needed to be refilled at local pharmacies - I send them a message back using the AC messaging .
If prescriptions need refilled for faxing to long term pharmacies - I fill the script & use the PRINT PREVIEW button & save it to my MA's folder as a PDF file for her to fax it later.
To make a long story short when I log into AC on my Laptop I see either 1. Messages as (Patient XYZ) or 2. Patient charts as CHART:Patient XYZ.
So I am having a hard understanding where is the confusion.
Help me understand where you are encountering a problem
