I'm looking for help with the attached error on 2 workstations. It happens when we try and view a PDF imported item.

- AC Version: 10.0.2, self hosted
- Foxit Reader (free) v9
- Windows 10 (version 2004)
- Doesn't matter who is logged into AC

The error window has 2 options:
Selecting "Switch To" does nothing.
Selecting "Retry" a 5-10 times will eventually get the PDF

Hi Josue.

The only Google instance of your error is in a visual basic forum:

https://tinyurl.com/5n6skfdb

The thread is quite dense and not very helpful.

I would uninstall foxit v9 and try foxit v10, since it's quick and easy to do.

If foxit v10 works, you're done.

If it doesn't, you've ruled out the new version.

A more tedious test would be to switch both stations to Adobe reader and see if Adobe handles the problem.

I'd also run the free version of Revo uninstaller to see if there are multiple Foxit installs on the two stations.

Cheers,

Thank you Carl. That error is just a bit different Application cannot than mine Action cannot but I think its still points to the same underlying issue that something is busy with the file.

I actually got it working on one of the workstations by uninstalling a trial of Foxit Phantom Pro that snuck onto it and then rebooting. Also, this one had Foxit free v10 already.

The other workstation with Foxit v9 seemed to get better after running a SFC scan in cmd and then rebooting.

I hope I don't ever have to go back to Adobe.

Hi Josue,

Glad things are working for you!

Had you already tried just rebooting both systems before the uninstall of the trail foxit and sfc?

Cheers,

Carl Fogel
