Does anyone know if ver 9.3 first backs up to the AC folder on the "Main" computer before it backs up to anyother designated media or file on a different computer ? The "Main" computer in my office is a server with a relatively small hard drive that gets totally filled up after 3 AC backups [backs up daily]. So I added a 128 Gig USB drive to the server and directed the program to back up there--alas, it will not do that -- I think that AC is trying to backup first to the "Main" computer AC folder which is already full and therefore does not proceed to Step 2--ie backing up to the USB drive. Any thoughts?

Thanks

This one caught my eye so I did a quick check and yes, it does also create a copy in the AC/Backup directory. The instructions on the screen mention that "Your encrypted backups will "also" be placed there. I've added a story for a future release to allow you to override this and not make an unnecessary copy

Dr. Dino, You might seriously look into replacing the small drive. Odds are that it is older and slower, but in any case, the drive will not function efficiently when there is so little free space available. You are likely to see a speed improvement with a newer, faster drive.

Dinosaur, I agree with the advice you got from Kurt. Getting a larger drive will not only help this issue but will almost certainly improve the function of your main computer- perhaps dramatically.
In the interim, I would download Cyber-D's auto-delete. This free little program is easy to set up and will automatically delete the back-ups created on your drive. Even after you get a larger drive, by using this program, you never have to remember to delete old back-ups; it will do it for you.

On the old backup version, it tells you it will install to the AC\Backup folder. You can then set it to back up to three other locations, and then offsite.

You may need to upgrade your PC if the hardware is this old. Hard to know. What is your processor, memory, drives.

Agree with Kurt, but would be more specific and recommend an SSD. In fact, it would be extremely helpful if you get an SSD and not a HDD.

@Chris YEAH!!!! Been trying to get that "feature" changed for over ten years.
