When did old Core 7 "how to instructions" change so that "Full Patient Record" needed to be scrolled down to and highlighted to send the appropriate info to the portal and get credit? As opposed to the visit that was highlighted at the top of the list? I SWEAR that MU2 2015 visits were counted the other way. Am I crazy about this? I don't believe I've done this any other way EVER and can still go back to MU2 and run reports from 2015 and have them counted properly. Since I have now done this improperly all of 2016 (and I hate having to do this after everything else at the end of the day) is there anyway to fix the report numbers and get credit? Frustrated with lack of guidance for the solo many-hatted practictioner these days.....

There were many people who asked this question in Orlando and we never got a solid answer.

Greetings. The requirements for Core 7 have always been to send a full patient record to the portal. I went and double checked the how to I posted in my video tutorial and it does state to select the Full Patient record (here is the link to the video, if you are curious: Core 7 ) There is no way to go back and "fix" the numbers for meaningful use, unfortunately. You still have time to correct these numbers, however since 2016 is not over. To make things easier, you can automate the process for sending summaries up to the portal. Just go to Admin Options and select "Patient Portal and Secure Messaging". In that screen, about 3/4 of the way down, select the option for "Automatically send clinical summaries to portal when signing off a chart". Selecting this option will allow the system to automatically generate a Full Patient Record Summary and send that summary to the portal when you sign off on your chart. Just make sure you are signing the charts within 4 business days of the visit date. If you need more help with meaningful use, you can sign up for our Meaningful Use Success Service here: http://amazingcharts.com/services/mu-success-services/

Thank you for your response. Still doesn't explain to me why I have some numbers for this in previous years. I doubt that I changed the way I did things, but oh well.

This is so very sad. I thought we were done with meaningless use, but NO! Doctors are just a bunch of wimps. I do not understand the reluctance -- is it fear, or what? -- to stand up and say ENOUGH!
Medical records have deteriorated almost to to the point of uselessness under "meaningful use." When I get the Friday dumps from big Portland hospitals to our little nursing home in Astoria, they are never accompanied by any sort of useful records -- there may be 20 pages of useless garbage, but I look in vain for a single page summary of what happened. The med lists are often wrong.
Can you imagine a world in which a brief phone call was made by the hospital doc to the receiving nursing home doc? Or a handwritten note that got faxed?
How absurdly 20th century. But you know, it worked!

I am not sure how we stand up without a unifying force. I stood up the best I could by not doing Meaningless Use. And, I will not do MIPS or MACRA. Or anything else the government forces me to do. I will ask the U.S. Attorney's Office when they stop by on October 27th.

There will be no "unifying force" any time soon.
Federal law prohibits doctors from forming unions unless they are employed. And I have never experienced the kind of solidarity among physicians that would allow for successful unionization -- so I don't think it will happen now that way more than half of new physicians are employed and could be unionized.

Although testing of pt's reply to dr's updox messaging is demonstrated working (received at patient portal) thru AM supporting team. however it didn't register in MU core 17 report ie: 0:179.
could I have a reply from Admin side?

Is there a way to send lab results from amazing charts to a patient's portal account?
