I have an Error 91 only on 3 workstations since upgrading to v9.1.0. I decided to delve a little deeper into this error and this is what I discovered for my situation:
I have 7 workstations. There are 3 exam room, 1 personal office, and 3 office staff. I have a bad habit of log onto my personal office workstation, then walk away and AC times out. I then go to an exam room, log on and see a patient, then log off. If I then go back to same exam room workstations that I have previously logged onto while my personal office workstation is still "timed out" from previous log in, Error 91 occurs, AC crashes (on the exam room workstation) and have to re-start the AC program. This only occurs on the exam room workstations since I never log on to AC on my office staff AC workstations. Now, If I log off personal workstation, then use AC as regular in the Exam rooms and log off/on, then no error 91. Therefore, to me this is a bug. Yes, I should be logging off manually before walking away from any workstation. And if I follow that practice, then no error 91.
I thought this was a .NET problem and had support log onto my network server and workstations and they could not find a problem. I then fresh installed windows 7 sp1 and still got problem. Then I fresh installed windows 10 and still got same error. Therefore, it is not a windows or AC installation problem but is an actual bug in how the log on process is handled, if a previous log in is timed out on another workstation. This never happened with any other prior version of AC I used.
Just wanted to get this out there and see if anyone else able to replicate this error. Or has similar experience.

Here is my response from AC today:
Hello Dr. Hayes, You are correct. This issue is a bug in that version of Amazing Charts. Unfortunately, we do not have a solution for this yet, but a workaround would be to log out of your original PC like you mentioned. Sorry for any hassles this causes for you and your office. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know. Thanks, Nick Brochu | Client Services Team Lead 1600 Division Rd. | Suite 2000| West Warwick, RI 02893 866-382-5932
This would have been nice to have it listed in the release notes in the "known issue" section, but it is not.
Hope this helps others.

We get the same run time error 91 while working with the schedule eg blocking schedule or making appointments. It happens so frequently at the front office where most of the appointments are made that it affects work flow. Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions?

Our office also gets these 3-4 times a day when booking appointments. weird thing is, it still books that particular appointment before it closes.

Now, If I log off personal workstation, then use AC as regular in the Exam rooms and log off/on, then no error 91. Therefore, to me this is a bug. Yes, I should be logging off manually before walking away from any workstation. And if I follow that practice, then no error 91. When you say log off, do you mean logging off AC itself or logging off the computer? In ten years, I have never logged off AC. I have logged on if the computer reboots. Otherwise, it is ALWAYS open under my name, and the computers that I USE are always locked and not logged off. Of course, I click F3 or click on the lock screen icon before I leave the room for confidentiality, but that leaves the computer locked and not logged off. It is good that it gets rid of your error, but I have never had that error. As you say, it is a bug. I was just asking, because that seems like so much extra time during the day to close and reopen AC between visits. Now, for best practices, my staff logs off their computers each evening. The computers are on 24/7.

We have always had that Run time error occur but at different times. We are setup similarly, though, in that the staff sometimes walk away from their personal desktops without "Logging out" of AC and logging into the Exam room desktops. Meanwhile AC times out on their personal desktops. For us, though, the error doesn't always happen. We usually get the Run time error while we are just randomly navigating a chart. Haven't been able to pin point the cause. I think I even posted about this a year or so ago.
I think Dr Hayes means he "Logs out" of AC, which leaves him at the AC login screen. Which doesn't close it/shutdown completely.

I see. What is weird, though is I AC open on for computers. I have NEVER seen it time out.
I know you will see error 91 when you get to the event viewer but maybe look right after it happens
You could also try going to msconfig in run command and turn off a fee programs from starting and see if there are any conflicts.

I think there is a setting to Time out after a certain period of inactivity. Ours is set to 3 minutes or so.

Can you tell me where that setting is? Any version of AC has never timed out on me. What do you mean by time out. I mean I know what time out is on many apps or connections, but I am not aware how that would work on AC. I will have it open, and just lock the computer.
The next day, I can log in, and it will still be open to that chart or just the main screen. ???

You have to login as Admin > Users and Account Security > Advanced Security. You'll see an option there for locking AC after a period of inactivity. ![[Linked Image from amazingcharts.com]](http://amazingcharts.com/ub/attachments/usergals/2016/12/full-3802-937-ac_timeout.jpg)

Np. Visuals are invaluable and they're easy to do.
