Can anyone help me. I'm coming from Allscripts and trying to send my patients CCD via ePHI export. I send it to updox and download to my computer as a zip file, then extract. When I try to import into to AC (I can find the xml file), I get an error message saying, "Translation failed for the selected document" "There was an error while translating the clinical document, CCD Translation Error" It gives me the ability to save it as an Imported Item in the Patient's chart, but that's it.
If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it. I'll be call AC tomorrow to try to get some help as well. If this is part of meaningful use to be able to export and import CCD, why is it failing or not simple enough to do?

Jason,
We would be glad to help. Send me a private message or use our website's contact form so that we can get in touch today. We are working to finish another conversion this weekend. => http://www.bestforyourpractice.com/contacts/
Since most new AC users are "Switchers" we have been doing conversions for the last year, and have been looking for an opportunity to do an Allscripts conversion.
We have recently completed completed Athena, Centricity, CPSI, and custom conversions.
Can anyone help me. I'm coming from Allscripts and trying to send my patients CCD via ePHI export.... If this is part of meaningful use to be able to export and import CCD, why is it failing or not simple enough to do?
The short answer here is that vendors are required to export to attain certification, but they are heavily incentivized to not make the format usable by anyone.
The CCDA isn't really a spec, it is more like guidelines ... than actual rules
SO, from my perspective, EMR vendors have their own "Pirate Code"
AC has asked us to turn what we do into a more standardized offering for Switchers, so let me ask the Clinical Experts, what makes a reasonably viable conversion into AC?
Based on our experiences I recommend: <1>Patient Demographics <2>Allergies in the AC Allergies list <3>Problems in the AC Problems list (Inactive Problems Inactive if the old system gives us that) <4>Meds in the AC Problems list (Inactive Meds Inactive if the old system gives us that)
I have similar issues importing from EPIC when I see hospital patients, in followup in the offic Here is AC response, whenI asked them to look into the issue
The cause of our issues here where some CCD files are not displayed properly in AC when they are imported from your computer after being exported from Updox.
Charlie explained that exporting a CDD from Updox (in a file labeled ending with ?.xml?) means that it does not include what is called a ?style sheet?
A style sheet is a key that turns the weird code we see on some of these patients like Mr. L into the readable format that we often see after we import it.
Charlie suggested that this method is not the best because it can cause issues like this. Instead he suggested that the practice request a PDF or HTML document version of the CCD to be sent along with the ?.xml? file and the practice import the PDF or HTML rather than importing the ?.xml? document itself.
Importing this .xml is not very reliable and we suggest requesting a PDF or HTML file from the sender and importing that document instead.
