I am not sure what all you use but I felt paying $250 for AC backup was a rip off.

I am using another online provider and end up paying about $50/year and I upload lots of other stuff(like docs and excel sheets). It is HIPAA complaint and does 448 bit encryption, so almost impossible to crack it.

other people have thoughts ?

Hi Srini,
I have a secure FTP option on my website. I've been uploading offsite backups there, plus I take home hard copies on my portable hard drive daily (Seagate Freeagent Go). I also do automated on site backups each night and weekly to bi-weekly DVD backups. Finally I have a Mirra Personal Server which copies files and deleted files in real time so that I can retrieve discarded documents if needed.

I am not a security guru, so I don't have 100% knowledge about FTP options and their security. I do have my web host set to NEVER allow any other user except me to access it. So I presume someone would need my user/pass to access.

Any thoughts?

there is quite a long post on the subject of backups. We use Mozy.
Refer to this recent topic:

I have used both of the batch files contained in the link above for backup. Very cool. Thanks to Bert and Santos for sharing.
