So as much as I love AC, some things just bug me, as I'm sure they do other people, and they would be EASY FIXES.
1. Collapsing of labs - yes I know the folders all collapse, but we do lots of labs, and it would be nice if they would collapse labs all to a date, instead of listing each lab. Over the years, it gets too many to view. 2. Importing labs and names too long - so every time you import someone named "Christopher", you have to manually match that person, because the name is too long. Annoying. 3. Which pharmacy escribing - why is the name of the pharmacy you are sending prescription not included/easy to find. Ideally it would be on summary to patient, so they would know where you sent it. Very difficult to find and prove to patient when/where it was sent. 4. More Updox integration - ok I keep harping on this and it might not be an easy fix, but if I send a letter or lab results to a patient, it should be immediate and direct. My staff should not have to reassociate patient (sometimes making a mistake) and then send the results. Please fix this...

UPDOX INTEGRATION - I would love to just edit the PDF and have my nurse transmit the result through the portal or call the patient, then save the whole thing to the chart. But it is still easier to review the lab in AC - less clicks, less hassle, less mistakes.

Agree, agree and agree. Perhaps these are easier to fix than, for example, changing the Amazing Charts logo. But that was important, wasn't it?

But it is still easier to review the lab in AC - less clicks, less hassle, less mistakes. What I'd like to see on this is that, when I want to send something from a patient's chart to the patient, I select from AC "Send to Patient via Portal" and it automatically sends it to the patient via Updox. Or at least, that it opens up the "send item to patient" window in Updox, and lets you just compose your message and click "send."

It's all about the logo... I'm fine with viewing labs in AC as they get imported, but when I hit "print", it is ridiculous that it doesn't automatically go to the patient. The way it is done now with Updox "printing" and re-associating to the patient is fraught with errors. David Lee, MD IM Dallas, TX

Just came up with another. So when viewing labs, once you view a lab, it then scrolls all the way down to the bottom on the left lab panel to the oldest labs. So to get back to the current labs, you have to scroll back up. Sounds like a small thing, but we do labs every 3 months, and they're adding up. Now it's taking 3-4 clicks to get back up to current labs. In a year or two it will be up to 5-6 clicks. Easy fix!

These have been easy fixes, for what, over ten years now?

True true! But if we keep bringing them up, someone has to listen at some point, right?

They are supposed to be monitoring the board more often, especially this forum.

Just to keep this threat going I'll repeat: OK, so I'm tired of my otherwise great employees accidentally sending lab results for patient 9234 to 9324. It is a simple human error, but a HUGE HIPPA violation. It happens a few times a month. We almost always catch it when it is sent to the provider to sign off the lab being sent. Then we remove from portal and I delete from AC chart. There is so much redundancy and room for error with this method. When I send a patient a lab result or letter, it should IMMEDIATELY and DIRECTLY go to them. If I send it Saturday, there is no reason patients should have to wait until Monday when my staff arrives to send it to them. I've been complaining about this for a long time now, hoping it would get fixed, but now reading about version 7, it seems NOT yet fixed. This is really ridiculous. Updox says it is AC's fault. Not sure whose fault it is, but we could not run our office without Updox, and the two need to get together and get this fixed ASAP.
Over it!

I feel like this is a good place to complain, but AC never fixes the problems that have been present for 10 years and talked about ad nauseam. AC used to randomly hang, such that when I quit out of the program I had to go to the task manager and force it to quit. Now, I cannot EVER quit without it doing this. It always hangs and has to be shut down this way, usually at the most inopportune time after crashing when things are busy. I talked to Guardian and the tech says it just does that, with no idea on a fix...

AC still has not found a way we can easily reconcile the labs when they are importing. They used to have a button for this, but then removed it as it never worked. There are so many problems they never fix, why should I spend money and go to an ACUC? It's not like they listen. Honestly, if I had a better program I think I'd switch.

I love AC and Updox, so I'll just keep complaining... Seems like that's the only hope for getting it fixed.

Is it any faster for you to leave the TaskManager up and just kill the process from there?

Yes. And, you really shouldn't have to have the task manager up.
On the .bat file, I thought it wasn't quitting, hence the killing it from Task Manager.

Here is a batch file that will force close AC. This is good if you frequently get the AC is still running in the background error or it just is completely unresponsive. http://luthratech.com/downloads/Force_Close_AC.bat
