I do not need all of my charts signed but will need occasional charts co-signed by my supervising MD. Is there a way to select which charts to be co-signed?

How do you know which charts will need to be signed? In other words, do you know in advance, or only after the encounter is complete?

For the first 6 months all charts then it will be after the encounter is complete. He has to reveiw a percentage and of course any that I have questions about. If there were a way when I sign it that I could flag it to be co-signed that would be great if not we will have him place a note in the chart.

It sounds like the best idea would be to: - For the first six months, use the co-sign feature.
- After that, select a number of completed charts for review.
- You can either e-mail the charts to him, or...
- He can go through the old schedule, right-click on a patient's name (pre-selected or at random) and create a full-fledged Addendum.
I believe an Addendum to an encounter could be created under another the M.D.'s name, but would still be considered part of the encounter, and should be easy to print off along with the original note. You would just have to have the M.D. create the Addendum on the same day, or set the date manually to the date of the encounter each time. Until you try this out, it may seem confusing. Let me know if my thoughts are not coming through loud and clear.

Good ideas. You may also consider using the reminder feature. This would give you the benefit of sending it that day in yellow, being able to add a note if you want to let him or her know specific things, and you could save it to the chart if you wish (it is not part of the medical record). That way, next time you are in that chart, you could look for the feedback.
If you try to edit the forward of a signed chart, you get all sorts of scary and nasty things if you try to use Enter to return.
