I think it has been like this for several days, but wondering if anyone has noticed that the time at posting is off?

Check your time preferences by going to My Stuff>Edit Preferences. The Server time is set to GMT. So I live in California so my time zone is GMT -8

Sandeep,
The time is correct when I am signed in, but when signed out there is still a delay by 7 hours later on all the posts. Any other ideas, and thanks in advance.

Funny, how this has been like this for over ten years and no one has noticed it. Another use about a week ago brought it up. I thought about putting up a message, but what the hell, it doesn't seem to hurt anything, and it will always be off no matter what you do.
First, the admin has to choose the default server time, which we use GMT. This is the classic for most things and -5 generally gets you the EST. Everyone on the board has to choose what time to offset. Most will do the offset in order to get their timezone. Most people forget DST and Arizona or New Mexico or both don't observer it. If you are not logged in, the offset can't work and so you are on GMT.
I could change it so the past 48 hours are done in relative time. Today at 5 pm 14 hours ago.

But, no, the time isn't off. My recommendation is to just take it on faith that the post after yours is newer.

Bert,
Thank your for the explanation. I was just getting a little bit of "Bert withdrawal", so good to hear from you. I was not sure if it was something I was doing, and thought maybe it had something to do with the recent acquisition of the Chromebook but could not figure out why it would even be related. It is no bother to me, but thank you for the rationale.
This is the first time I have ever noticed it, however.

Yea what Bert said lol.
It's always been like that. I think the time used to be set differently though. Must've recently changed. I think it was East Coast time by default before since my offset used to be -3.

Although the posting time on the forum posts shows the correct offset, the time on the "Most Recent Posts" list in the left column remains GMT.
