Ago, I am probably going to make a fool out of myself since I am the postmaster.
But, is the spell checking new?

And, I have no idea what "ago" has to do with anything.

The spell checker has been there as long as I have been using AC. The spell-check database is kind of horrible: no medical terms.
I have been adding medical terms and will share the benefit of my labor with anyone who is interested.

I suppose I should clarify. I don't mean on the program. I am referring to on here.
You get the little red squigglies underneath the word. I can't recall those being there before.
So, there is one underneath this wird.

I don't seem to have that feature. Maybe it's from some other program on your PC?

That's it. Thanks. The human mind is a very tricky thing. I just started using Firefox quite a bit two days ago. And, hmmm, guess what started happening two days ago. Spell check.
It doesn't have the full blown applet to allow you to run through the entire post and change the errors, but you can see them. I just tried it on Experts Exchange, too.
It has me sold. That feature by itself is enough to make me stay with Firefox. I have always liked it, but I always get back to the Microsoft compatibility. But, the red line underneath misspelled words let's you know right away.
Usually, I just send posts. But, if it's a long one or one that is particularly important to me, I will copy and paste it into Word and spellcheck it prior to sending it.

I have always like Firefox, but the font isn't as nice as I.E. Maybe I can change those a bit. But, having spell check, maybe I should call it spell alert, is a feature I just can't live without now.

Note to Brian: Watch the hyperbole with Bert ("invincible"). It's going to be hard enough for the poor guy to get his head in the seminar door as it is. At least he will be easy to recognize--think Stewie in "Family Guy" And the personality is eerily similar as well...

Donna,
How'd you know. Stewie is my brother. But, he's the family guy. I am not a family guy at all.
Invincible,

And what a wonderfully disfunctional family we are too.... "We're a happy family, we're a happy family..., we're a happy family, me, mom and dad...." (The Ramones)

Dysfunctional even. But, Paul, what about "We are family?" Wasn't that the Pittsburgh Pirates theme song back when Willie Stargell was leading them to a World Series championship?
Donna? Thoughts?

Glad you referenced the Ramones for that little ditty,Paul. I was thinking it sounded a little "Barney"!

I think you need all the lyrics, Donna, to get the full effect. As you can see Barney's not writing songs like these although the last verse would explain his weight being above the 95%. We're a happy family We're a happy family We're a happy family Me mom and daddy Siting here in Queens Eating refried beans We're in all the magazines Gulpin' down thorazines We ain't got no friends Our troubles never end No Christmas cards to send Daddy likes men Daddy's telling lies Baby's eating flies Mommy's on pills Baby's got the chills I'm friends with the President I'm friends with the Pope We're all making a fortune Selling Daddy's dope Or if you want the video version from U-Tube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYUvnhGuTsI

I stand corrected. It's hard at my advanced age to keep up with you young whippersnappers! The last CD I bought was Carly Simon's greatest hits (we have the same sultry alto timbre)... Thanks for the update!

http://www.carlysimon.com/vain/vain.htmlAnd, by the way, the song was about me; and I do have the letters A, E and R in my name.

While I've always suspected that, Ms. Simon has always said "If you think you know, you don't". And these letters are also in your name---"bad as" (speaking of spell check). Is that true as well??? "Well, that's the way I always heard it should be"...

Well, the ultimate irony would be that it was Mick Jagger as he sang background vocals on the song. It is fairly clear, though, that it was Warren Beatty.
To this day, though, I find the lyrics to be as clever as any song ever written.

Bert, Thanks, I forgot part of the second verse seeing what state of mind I was in back when Nancy was baby sitting as a live in for their manager Linda Stein, now murdered by some assistant of her's in her real estate business. I can remember seeing them live when they were a real bar band in NYC, CBGB's and Max's Kanas City man.... Donna, Don't you dare every associate me with Barney again. Just the thought of that purple people eater makes me puke. (Just Kidding, but yes he does make me puke) And FYI, that song was released way before there ever was consumer digital anything for music. It was vinyl baby all the way! Sire Records. Sorry Bert didn't mean to get you hot under the collar there.

And here I always thought Barney was a vegan!! Okay I'll be nice but it's gonna hurt. Truth be told, I've always hated that thing. Sorry Barney lovers... "I love you, you love me..." Get real kids, reality bites!!

Which begs the question:
Which is more random? Bob Costas and Charlie Rose interviewing Carly Simon and asking her who it was that was vain? OR
The worldwide hatred of a purple dinosaur. I am not that fond of him either, but why do adults despise of him more than Dora or those four guys from Australia in yellow, purple and blue T-shirts. Oh, yes, the Wiggles. I always picture them in some Aussie tavern drinking beer after beer and acting nothing like their show. Or, maybe not.

I always thought the Wiggles were the Aussies tribute to the purple Teletubbie. They're kind of creepy if you ask me (funny, no one did). A little too perky for disgruntled nature, I guess.
As for Carly Simon, is she going to hold onto this vital info until "he" dies (like Deep Throat)?? She apparently offered the info for a charity auction. Got tons of money with a rock-solid confidentiality clause.

Don't you hate it when you come up with this really cool and witty signature, but only two people will get it? Oh, and I posted this link previously, which does talk about her intention to never tell: http://www.carlysimon.com/vain/vain.htmlAnd why do I always thing of the song, Delta Dawn, you know "Delta Dawn, what's that flower you have on; could it be a painted rose from days gone by...and did I hear you say...? well you know the rest.

Okay, I finally read the series of articles. Geez, can you tell she's getting tired of that question?? God bless her, why doesn't she just give it up and get it over with. BTW Bert, you're pretty close to Nova Scotia, but do you have a Lear jet?? We'll just pretend it is you, how was she?

Nice edit! Very witty!
No, you keep getting a Lear Jet confused with a Beer Bet. I do win my share. Now that's witty right there. Quote from Larry the Cable Guy.
I could tell you how she was, but that would ruin the mystery. Don't forget this is an actual thread, not a PM.

Wasn't Carlie involved with JT (James Taylor) for a while back then? I was always thinking she might have been talking about him. I have loved his music since his first album with the original hick sounding version of "Carolina on my Mind". I like both versions really, but that first one is a JT classic. It shows just how he evolved over time, by the time he got to Mud Slide Slim. Any how, he had a whole bunch of issues back then (probably still does) and he seemed to be the most out there celeb in her life at the time and I don't think things end too nicely or went to well for them; So unless you folks have other insider information, my money is on JT.
