we just upgraded to AC version 6.5.6. It has a nice new letter writer that in many ways resembles Microsoft Word (important for us specialist who send out letters to referring docs). The AC letter writer comes with a list of preloaded fonts, but we would like to load our own custom fonts which we use in our letterhead (the way we've loaded fonts into MS Word)

We can easily do this in MS Word, but can't figure out how to do this in the new AC letter writer. Does anyone have any experience or suggestions?

You probably can't, but maybe you can. I don't have 6.5, but I really wouldn't expect a built-in letter writer to have those types of bells and whistles, though some might have them. It is nice to hear of a long asked-for enhancement. We send a lot of letters out too, and I've been using my MS template instead of the AC writer for quite some time.

This also means that the printed visit summaries and instructions will look more professional. I hope.

Yes, I have long said that amazing charts needs to think about their competition in this area! I just got a note from E clinical works that looked very much more professional than her own notes.

The New Letter writer is a significant improvement! - much nicer. We may have solved the letterhead/font problem by scanning in our old letterhead to use for new faxed consults.

One problem I have noted is that it is very difficult to highlight a single line of text within the new letterwriter - Highlighting a single line of text tends to immediately spill over to immediately highlight multiple lines or paragraphs. This makes it difficult when changing the order of prescriptions, instructions or medications in visit summaries.

Anyone have any experience yet?
