My nurse is entering her data into AC (vital signs, chief complaint) and tries to "Close Chart". One click and nothing happens. A second click and the chart closes but when I go to open it, there is no data there. What are we doing wrong? thanks Dave Stroh PS I have been using Dragon Naturally just this past week. Looks like a good asset. ds

Note: I'm using the beta so your screen may be different than mine.
I found this very annoying. Your nurse needs to "forward" the chart to you. It's located at the bottom right of the patient chart screen. You then need to go to your "message" box and "pull" the message which will retreive the message which includes the chart. I've tried to Right-click on the message then "pull chart" but that doesn't work *BUG BUG BUG*. You need to click the button on the bottom right of the screen.
One would think that the vitals would be saved for that encounter - it doesn't. It will also ask if you want to delete the message. I've stopped deleting it until I actually complete the message... err... chart and then go back and delete it later. Reason for doing so is because you lose all the data that your nurse entered if you accidentally close this screen OR you try to look up information on another patient. It will not save an incomplete chart any other way. I've worked this around by send the chart back to yourself if I need to complete it (sign chart) at that time.
Another problem... if you don't sign it, you don't actually have an "account information" tab that your nurse/MA can enter the co-pay information.

1. Yes the nurse needs to forward the chart. 2. Once it is in inbox, double click on chart to open. I found the tutorials very helpful http://www.amazingcharts.com/product/theproductframeset.htmAlso please read the help items: In your program, from any computer on network, go to help, choose contents and read all the items. It would be helpful if staff member do the same. Or once you master it you can show it to staff and then it will be lot easier for staff. Regards.

I find this very annoying as well, and in fact has lost data that has already been entered because of this. When I first started using AC, I had just left a practice where we were using SoapWare and was use to everything being saved when the note was closed. I would still call it up later and finish my note without losing data. Even now, when in a hurry...I'll lose data because I've not forwarded something first. It's very frustrating. Barbara

If I make any sense here-
Once the nurse enters, if you close the chart it will not save the chart. Because the nurse or front desk or office manager or file clerk does not have the privileges to sign a chart. They all can add addendum to the chart (I believe) or send an email to themselves and save any phone conversation etc. She can enter the info, but the doctor or the Nurse practioner has to sign the chart.
So the only way the vitals will be saved is to forward the chart to you and then you sign, then it will be saved.
Regards
