All-
We are currently using a full billing company that we are not happy with (paying a % of all collected revenue) and was hoping to switch to AC v7.0 but not ready in time and we have given notice to end our current relationship with our billing company. We want to move to just a clearinghouse, and we're deciding between EZClaim and Office Ally. We are a small, single physician office but very tech savvy. I'm a little skeptical in 'free' but lots of folks on this user board seem to like office ally. I do like the remote option of EZClaim as I flex working at home and the office. We accept Medicare, BCBS, and Cigna. Really like to analyze data.. not sure if that is a big difference between companies.

Any advice would be great.. need to make a decision in the next few days.

Thanks!
Amy

From a clearing house standpoint, I am very pleased with OA. Their tech support has also been great. I am using another program for practice management at this time so I cannot comment on the tracking of payments and accounts with OA.

I currently use EZclaim for billing and practice management. I use their Availity module for the clearinghouse services. The nice part about Availity is that it is free. It works well and you can get your payments from Blue cross, Aetna Humana Medicare medicaid United Healthcare all electronically as well as gettting all the payments posted directly into Ez claims.

Neither. Gateway costs more but pays for itself quickly

Leslie-
What program do you use for PM and does it integrate with AC? My understanding of OA's practice mate is that it doesn't interface with AC, so all patient demographic info needs to be entered 2x- 1x in AC and another time in PM. After the patient bill is created out of PM, then it is sent to OA to be processed. That is a lot of extra work. If we only use OA, then the superbill can be exported and interfaced with AC, but then there is no system for tracking payments against a claim. Any advice would be great.

Thanks!

What system did you end up going with?

Unfortunately, Amy has not posted in almost 2 years. There are some people who make a few posts but don't keep up with the board.

I too would like to know what they chose, but have to relay on her coming back to see the post.

Hope springs eternal

On the other hand, any recommendations on both of these clearinghouses?

I tried OA (with ezclaims software) about 5 years ago, but ran into problems where each blamed the other for claims not going through to IL Medicaid. I gave up and changed to a billing service.

I will soon be changing again, looking at options
