We are hoping to use the PM when it is available but cannot do it unless the schedule ability changes. From what I can tell these are the things we would need to make it viable.
We need to be able to change the background colors of appt types so that they stick out in the schedule.
We have our main office and 3 satellite locations, we need to be able to have separate office schedules(resource) for each
We also desperately would like to see patient name only once when an appointment spans multiple time frames, rather than repeating on each line.
There may be more, but since I am not currently using it due to these lacking features, I am not sure. However this is the wish list for now.
Does anyone know if these items are being looked at?

Many of the items which you have mentioned have been discussed numerous times over the years. These have not been deemed critical issues at this point. Sometimes what we think we need we really only think we need. No EMR will have all the features each user desires. The ability to adapt your practice to the software at hand is really what you need. Then, as time goes by, both you and the software can grow into a compatible team...you give a little, the EMR gives a little.

Katy, I agree with Leslie. For example, while we all place different importance on different features, from your list above I'd consider:
1)Different colors for different types of appointments. Nice to have. But you don't really Need it. Personally, I'm not sure I'd even want it. But that's only me and my individual preference.
2)See patient name only once. Again, nice to have. I'd like this. But you can adapt to it even if it is annoying (and I do agree with you that it is).
3)Separate office schedules for different offices. This seems more like a true Need. Yeah, I think you really need this. The effect this has on your operations is potentally much different that the first two. Or rather the lack of having it.
On 3, I think the Updox scheduler can help you out there if you are using Updox. Be careful, the Updox scheduler has its own shortcomings. We currently can't use it as our main scheduler due to some of them, but it also has its strenghts. The person's name only appears once on the schedule as in issue 2 above. I think you can use it to accomplish 3 above, but we don't have multiple offices so I haven't fully flushed that out. But Updox does not have different colors.
You might want to get an Updox demo just so you can see for yourself and ask your specific questions. Also, V7 goes to open Beta in October I think (if they stay on schedule) so then you can put it on a spare computer and try it out.

Speaking of which.... any changes in the scheduler in the V7 beta? Any of you beta testers care to let us know?
