I attested successfully last year to stage I, and just ran a report to see where I stand this year. Everything looks good or easily attainable except for the 50% of clinical summaries. I honestly DO give summaries of every visit to each patient, but not the one the program prints out, so it looks low.
Any idea on how to get this number higher? I guess I can go back and print out summaries, but it would be a LOT.
How do you guys get this attestation, or has everyone been printing these all along?
Thanks!

I print the summary to UPDOX and send it to patient through the UPDOX portal.

I have been printing - you cannot change the numbers in AC report. Some people print their letter summary and then Print preview but do not actually print CCD unless pt. wants it...you have to decide how this works for you but you have to print preview the letter and CCD at least as well as hit print and when you choose the printer you can cancel and it will register.

Thanks! A couple of options 1 Preview print as noted above and only print out the CCD on patient request 2. Print to PDF and printout to paper on Pt. request. Yes this is one of the MU requirements that made the least sense, 50% of patients are not interested in this information. Greg

Use PDF printer as a default (free online "PDFCREATOR" or BULLZIP) printer for every pt encounter and print it to this pdf printer. When pt asks for an actual printer or if you chose to actually give a printout for the changes you made in the office, use a regular printer from the drop down menu that comes up when you hit Print. Hope this helps

Not sure if this applies to you, but we just noticed that our clinical summary percentage dropped from 60%+ to 17% after a recent AC upgrade. We were following all of the instructions on the AC video and could even prove in the audit log that we had printed the CCD's within 3 days of the patient appt (usually always during the appointment). We worked with AC and figured out that if we clicked on "dont include mid-level" at the top of the MU wizard in AC, it fixed our problem and the clinical summary #'s went back up to 'normal'. We only have one physician in the office and she does do all of the CCD printing.

We just noticed that someone in the office was just giving a note to the patients and NOT printing out the summary (didn't want to give them anything personal that he may have included in the note).
We figured since he WAS give the patient some info, but not just the way AC thought he should (like just having to check "Patient Education Given" check box.
I found that AC does stick to the 3 day window on printing out the summary, but it uses the date on the client PC to do its checking..........hint hint....
