I need a new ekg machine and have read the posts on Midmark IQECG. It is still quite pricey. Has anyone tried another brand of EKG software? I spoke to a salesman about NASIFF CardioCard PC based ekg system. It is less than half the price of Midmark. Anyone tried it? Are there any other choices?

It looks like Welch Allyn also has a pc based ekg system. It costs more than Nasiff and less than Midmark. I am wondering how their function and repairs compare.

I am familiar with CardioCard. I know someone who has one. I don't recommend it. The software was a bear to install (I helped, and also tried to install it later on one of our laptops). It only saves in it's own proprietary format, so you can't save the EKG to the patients chart. Regardless of what the salesman says, it wont do it! They told that lie to the person I know. Now, this was about 3 yrs ago when we go our Midmark. If he claims it will, tell him to prove it to you by sending one in .pdf to you.

Thanks! I guessed that the low price had some problem attached. Has anyone tried the WelchAllyn?

Been using the welch allyn PC based EKG for some years now, no interface to amazing charts but it is a database system so 1 install on main server and clients tie into that database. My laptop with AC also has the EKG on it. The software with Welch Allyn is able to have multiple EKGs onto one page and comparisons can be made. I then print to pdf and then import into amazing charts

I was thinking, if you install CutePDF on your laptop, you may be able to get CardioCart to print to PDF. Mike didn't have a pdf printer then. I'm not sure he has one now, but I may try to find out.
BTW, CutePDF is free. Just google it. Works like a charm.

Not really. When I initially installed it I had to play around with settings for data base but does not take long, a quick call to support to get the client computer to look at the database is all that is required, 20 mins to install, 30mins of working to get it to look at database (found out later when talking to support that I could have called them)

I do not understand why a simple install on one laptop should have difficulty finding the database. That is just stupid and lazy software design.
We couldn't even get any tech support on the telephone when we were trying this. But, it was absurd to even need to do so on one single stand-alone laptop install, not a network install. Maybe they have gotten better over the last 3 years. But, hey, first impressions last.

I found a wireless PC-based ekg system by CardiacScience, a Burdick brand. I like the idea of not needing the laptop physically connected to the leads. They claim to be the first wireless system.
