We got our new i7 with 16 GB of RAM installed today.
We were finally able to upgrade to 6.010
Haven't read the list of details of improvements, but my favorite
thus far is being able to type a message beside the order and have that writing actually transmit with the order!!

Vicki,

Congratulations! Must feel good.

What brand? Server or PC? Operating system?

We're using a Dell PC i7 with windows 7 professional in a peer to peer set up. We are using our old server for the rest of our software. Without the sql server bogging down the poor old 4 GB server, it is much happier and so are we.

Sounds like your setup is just about like ours. Runs well, no significant speed issues.

Have you considered v6.1.2?

Hi Vicki,

http://amazingcharts.com/ub/ubbthreads.php/topics/45010/What_are_major_differences_in_#Post45010

Pretty much per that thread, 6.1.2 has been rock solid, the only quirk is taking a few seconds (occasional up to 10 seconds) to send orders to printer. Otherwise it is best by far of the v6 family.
