The staff (and myself for 'test' patients), have been printing the clinical summaries within the Most Recent Encounter for the patients. (We print both the 'plan' and the CCD per Amazing Charts' instructions)
However, the numerator in the MU wizard for core 13, '0' doesn't change.
A couple variables. Do we have to save this correspondence to the chart and have the doctor sign off for it to count? And if not, does the CHART have to actually be signed BEFORE the clinical summary is printed, to be counted?

If you click "Print instructions (summary)" in the most recent encounter screen, then print the CCD (and the plan) then it should count. You must print the CCD but need not save or sign it (or the plan). Actually, you can just "preview" it and not actually print it to have it counted. If you do so and then look at the wizard within the most recent encounter, you should see #13 go from red to green (it does for me). does the CHART have to actually be signed BEFORE the clinical summary is printed, to be counted? Perhaps this is the issue. If you do not complete an encounter (by signing the chart) it will NOT be counted at all towards meaningful use. Charts sitting in a message box are not counted. I don't think there is any way to print the clinical summary AFTER the chart is signed and have it count towards MU; at that point it is not associated with any encounter. Does that address your issue?

The procedure is: -Finish your "plan" section of the encounter note (this is what will print for the patient) -Click print instructions(summary) and include CCD -Sign off the note
Doing it in this order will allow it to be counted.

Doing it in this order will allow it to be counted. Make sure that after clicking "print instructions (summary)", you click the Print Preview button, print the actual plan summary if you want to give it to the patient... then offer the patient a "continuity of care document" that will only serve to confuse them... and when they refuse X-out the previewed window. If you don't "print preview" or waste paper with "print to default", it won't count. Then, make sure the note is signed before midnight that night, otherwise core 13 won't be fulfilled.

Ah-ha! This is probably what is causing the lack of upward movement. I think the doc was waiting until the next morning to sign everything. In that case, just before signing off the chart he can repeat the same process, choosing of course to "preview print" then x-out each pop-up preview. then sign chart and it will count for THAT day (meaning, if you were attesting the dates 1-90, and on day 91 he signed notes of visits on day 90, the MU13 numbers will not count... it goes by the signed date... something to do with that "within 3 days of request" thing I figure). However, if he signs off without repeating the meaningless stuff, it doesn't count at all.

Hmm. I just created a note for a fake patient, previewed and printed the Plan and CCD, (but didn't 'save correspondence' to chart) looked at the meaningful use checklist within that patients chart (13 was ok!). I forwarded the chart to the doc, he signed. Closed the program on my comp. Re opened and ran the wizard. NO DICE. The denominator went up by 1, but the numerator stayed the same. WTF!

found out the problem after talking with AC support.
The Staff login was the one printing the clinical summary. The AC support guy told me that the clinical summaries need to be printed under the PROVIDERS login.
I stated that the staff member is working under he auspice of the provider, and the schedule differentiates between different providers (if it didn't, could be an issue with 1 staff member working for 2 docs)
The AC support guy said that this will be addressed in the 6.3 update of AC.
