OK, so I am sure I am the only one who didn't know this. I was playing around tonight and realized if you put the mouse pointer in any field and scroll with the wheel up or down, the previous notes will populate the encounter form.

I didn't realize this either. Makes it easier to review prior notes. Thanks, Bert!

I never realized this either. Actually, what I had to do was click in the little box at the top that has all the encounters listed first. Then put the pointer in any field and the scrolling trick works. Very handy indeed. Thanks Bert.

I did not know this either. Another fantastic tip! Keep 'em coming.

It is interesting that AC has functions that even long time users are still discovering.

Thank you, Bert!

yw. I find it interesting that they aren't telling us about them.

"Hover" yep, that's the word for those who are dummies, like me, and
click/select a field then wonder why the newly discovered mouse wheel
trick doesn't work. Hover and wheel, works in AC Ver 5.029.

Also, if your nurse enters data in a field then forwards the chart to
you and then you bring it up from the inbox, it will work. If, however,
you select/enter any data yourself then from that point on the wheel won't
scroll fields through past encounters.

Thanks for the tip Bert.

Frankly, AC is like a box of chocolates, you never
know what your gonna get and I kind of like that.

Sadly, this feature about which I was so excited, seems to have been deleted in 6.1.2. Seems we can't pay Peter without robbing Paul.

Perfect clich`. You are right. It is gone. Just like the check marks on the script writer once version 6 came out. This is part of beta testing, and I don't think it is working.

Another loss is that you can no longer double click in the meds box to get it to populate it with an updated list of meds. Now you are stuck with whatever was considered "current" meds when the note was started by the nurse. So my note from my patient today says he is currently taking amoxicillin and augmentin and there is no way to correct that. Are we going backwards or what?

I stand corrected. If you just go into the summary page and delete the med it automatically populates the med box on the chart note correctly. A big IMPROVEMENT.

You can also left-click in the current meds box, bringing up the medication reconciliation box. There you can either check Takes No Meds, add a medication or check No Longer Takes Medication with a comment and the field will be updated.

But don't you lose what the MA did in the note before sending to you if you scroll to other notes???

Good point. I don't know. Never did it on a "live" note. Now, I can't try, because one can't do it in 6.1.2.

Are you able to trial it?
