I have been having problems with pdf and the interatction with ac. Tech support said that ac doesn't like adobe standard and would work better with professional. this is alot more expensive and more than what I need. My fax IT person said I should get one of the free pdf reader/editors. Any suggestions??

What are you trying to do with Acrobat?
If it is just reading imported pdf files, then use the free Acrobat Reader X.

I had problems with V5 and the Acrobat Reader 9 interacting, but now using 6.0.10 and Reader X it is working well.

I do have a copy of Acrobat Pro version 7 that I use to create PDF files from faxed TIFF files but it does not have to interact with AC for this

Peggy, perhaps you can elaborate on the dysfunction: where and when and what happens? I have the lesser expensive 9 Standard Acrobat and never have AC related issues, although for everything else having to do with Acrobat, I couldn't claim the same. I had to upgrade to 9 from 7 because I went to Windows 7 64-bit and have installed the service packs as they come, but eventually found some of them to be troublesome (couldn't use ctrl function to select multiple pages) and I uninstalled and reinstalled from the CD; I'm currently at 9.0.0.6 and things are greatly improved.

I have also had problems with ac and adobe reader.Providers show me an endless loop error asking for a twain driver. In the past I was only seeing this opening a pdf file.
I was working with a provider and they were viewing an imported PDF file. They hit "control S" trying to save their encounter. That brought up the twain driver missing error.

I think the control functions default to adobe reader when you have a pdf file open.

I know this will sound funny given Adobe's expensive, etc., but has anyone called their tech support to see if they can help.

Also, try www.experts-exchange.com and post your question there under the Adobe section.
