Not sure, but I may know the reason for the problems with eRx and other issues.

Well, I had to do a bit more research. And, I could be way off, but some of the comments I have received from the experts at EE have shed a little light on it. I am going to give my theory and then let the developers such as James, Indy and Lawrence comment. There is another issue, which I have not looked into but will comment on for others. OK, this all started in v6. Version 6 is the version for Meaningful Use. Which means, data needs to be kept track of. There is a program called SAP Crystal Reports v9 which installs with AC. Its purpose is to make reports. If you notice from the picture below: http://www.box.net/shared/uo6ky7lzboihubugnte1 You will see Amazing Charts Report and SAP Crystal Reports on the top of the prescription. Disregard the window on top. Preview a prescription. you will see it. Now, some of the experts stated that it likely will pull data from SQL. If written correctly no issue. If it is converting CR8 data to CR9 data, then it would need to do this each time. One expert stated it could be slow if it is working with a large picture. Not sure if the script writer window would be the same. My hunch is that we did not have this in v5 and, hence, no problems. We have it in v6, and it seems to slow down the prescription writer. From what I understand, and I don't know Crystal Reports at all and very little about SQL, CR9 is there to retrieve information and generate reports. Quick overview of CR: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crystal_ReportsShows CR being used with Oracle and SQL to harvest data from database tables. Make sure to go all the way down. http://www.shiningstar.net/tutorials/crystalreports/crystalreportstutorial.htmA blog naming the six or seven things the blogger hates the most about Crystal Reports. You HAVE to read all of the comments after. Even if it isn't causing problems, why are we using it if it is this bad? Of course, these are only a few developers. http://dotnetbutchering.blogspot.com/2008/02/net-vc-7-good-reasons-to-hate-crystal.html And, why do we have a web server in the AC folder: UltiDevCassinWebServer2a I have no idea if it means anything. I'm just saying.

Awesome! Bert. I didn?t think about the Crystal Reports issues, but yes, this very well could be one of the problems. I am NOT a fan of Crystal Reports either. I called myself using Visual Studio 2005 Crystal Reports a few years back, and let?s just say I never went back using it again.
I always believed that the eRx problems had something to do with inconsistency of the source code. It looks like you have stumble across another key piece, Bert. Nice! Let?s see what James and Indy make of this finding.
BTW, I am an Expert-Exchange (EE) member, too, since 2009. I participate in the .Net (programming) arena.

And, why do we have a web server in the AC folder:
UltiDevCassinWebServer2a I know Bonjour has to do with the iPhone app and I think so does CassiniWebServer. BTW there is a slowdown at the Rx writing in V5 on P4 machines, it just is not as pronounced. After the fixes with hardware acceleration and .net, my P4s run acceptably. My primary V6 machines are dual cores however.
