I don't know if this has already been discussed.

Claims sent out next year will have to be "5010" compliant. Our EDI vendor, GatewayEDI, has already started the testing procudure.

I did a search, and found no mention of the 5010 format implementation on this site.

Does anyone know how long before we get to start sending 5010 test files?

IF I understood the Medicare Provider Service representative properly, the 5010 changes only pertain to the EDI. If you are using GatewayEDI and they submit properly by 01/01/2012 there is nothing else you have to do. If you were submiting directly you would have to adjust your EDI software to comply.

I think Mr. Mom knows his billing. wink
5010 is purely a billing standard, so I don't believe it impacts the EMR portion of our practice/program at all. On the other hand, I would expect that V7 (practice management) will meet 5010 standards, especially since it now appears by the time V7 is out, 5010 will be the law of the land.

I am getting nervous about 2010. NHIC sends daily reminders that we need to start testing. I send HCFA electronically through Office Ally but do not use them for PM.(waiting for AC) Office Ally said it is up to AC to be 5010 ready. 4Q is almost here. I need to know if AC and the PM will indeed be ready for 1/1/2012. I do have my trust in AC. I just need to know if I need to, at this last hour and after all this wait, go with Office Ally PM.
