Have used Updox for more than a year and love it. Friday an "automatic update" new version occurred and it's now inoperable. Talked to their techs and they're working on it. When it was installing an error message kept appearing re something about Safari and Chrome browser and null (I use Firefox on Windows PC). The new version looks great with improved intuitive layout using icons etc but, at least for now, is inoperable on my system.

Just a FYI for anyone using Updox and also I'm wondering if anyone else has run into this problem.

The only problem I had with the update was the inability to print to updox. Tech support walked me through the corrective procedure. That was the only hiccup we had. Works great!

Arrgh.....I was afraid of that. Here's hoping tomorrow the Updox guys come to the rescue.

We had this issue, by inhouse tech reinstalled the UpDox printer, all is well.
Note also; the destination for an item printed to UpDox.. that is patient chart or workspace... no longer has the choice dialog box and a "timeout" default to workspace. This is now set as a preference under the tools menu. This only comes up for me when I am sending a large file, like an endoscopy report to UpDox.... if I send it to a patient, it hold up the process for some time, and I prefer to let them queue up in the workspace to deal with later. Otherwise, I really like that change.

John, what exactly is Updox Lite? I have never understood exactly what that is/does. I love Updox and support is excellent, but documentation is sparse.

So David, if your preference is set to "chart" (because that is generally what you do) what happens when you want to print to the workspace? The "relate to patient" dialog opens, but I see no way to get it to the workspace.

This allows a non-user (not one of the 3 logged in Updox users) to use the "Updox printer" to place documents in the Updox workspace. For instance, if one of my staff who isn't an Updox user wants to send a document for me to mark up or file to AC or fax out, they choose the "Updox printer" when the print dialog box appears when printing a document. Then the document shows up in the Updox workspace. Since the upgrade on Friday, I can't get this function to work.

There are other issues with the recent update. Under Options, there is no long a "Re-assign" choice. This was incredibly useful for letting my staff handle a faxed Rx as a eRx, and I could attach a brief message to the document telling them to do so. But its just gone now.

I was able to speak to a tech support person Friday, and get my most important issue with the upgrade dealt with (the Updox printer with logged in users). Which is consistent with the almost legendary responsiveness of the tech support that has been my experience with Updox. But no answer yet with my secondary issues. I figure that they are overwhelmed with major problems with the upgrade. And as you pointed out, no FAQ or tech support site to get troubleshooting information.

Does this sound familiar -- small but successful company ill-prepared to deal with a major upgrade?

I also miss the "Re-assign" but I noted that they added "Route Item". Doesn't bring user names up in the drop down box but can be routed to other Updox users

Tried it. I can't get it to actually send to other Users. The document and message ends up in the Archive, not the workspace.

I don't seem to have that issue John. Not sure why it ends up in Archive for you and not the workspace

FYI

Updox woes resolved this afternoon. Apparently there were only a few users with major 2.0 Updox upgrade problems and I was one of em. If it's a requirement that all software upgrades have a few catastrophes, well then perhaps I "took one for the team". At least it makes me feel better looking at it that way.

I will say that the renowned Updox support, which I haven't used
since setup more than a year ago, came through in superb fashion.
The new look is great and any hassle well worth it in the long
run.

I still can't use Updox Lite and no luck with sending to my other users frown
