Sorry, Indy, but apparently there is an element of Meaningful Use which requires that we attest to educating at least 80% of our patients about healthy footwear. Some say it is enough to just ask "Do you wear unhealthy sneakers? Do you plan on quitting and using a healthier shoe?" Others think we should "go the extra mile" and really educate our patients about MBT and other newer technologies in footwear. Don't be such a Philistine!

This was a joke, right? Yeah? Please say yes.
Wayne New York, NY Hey, look! A Bandwagon! Let's jump on!
Remember, shoe size must be entered into Amazing Charts Version 6.2 in order to meet meaningful use for 2012. The information will be transmitted to your states Health Information Exchange (HIE). Then the TSA will then track the information in their "Foot Uniform Codified Keyset Expanded Database."
"Foot Uniform Codified Keyset Expanded Database"? Weird. If you take the first letter of each of those words you get a the acronym..FUC....anyway. That's weird. The government is amazing

I have to give poor unregistered Elaine credit... her posting has prompted several posts that are a lot more entertaining than discussions of, say, printer drivers. Not to mention titillating those among us with a serious foot fetish.

After carefully (!) reading through Elaine's post, I note that the shoes are based on "Masai barefoot technology". Is it possible that the Masai tribe of East Africa actually developed this technology? This ranks right up there with other recent internet mysteries such as why Nigerians inheriting vast sums of money want to deposit their funds in our US bank accounts.
Come on, John. Those Nigerians operate a well-known internet scam. They are easily recognized by their far-out promises and their consistently poor grammar.
This site looks legit to me. No wild promises, just "Many people wear the shoes for taking off weight actually."
And remember..."MBT Shoes Outlet never be your normal shoes". They NEVER be!
An unexpected demonstration of the good nature of this crew - folks found all kinds of fun in it. Gives me a morning smile.
With this as a baseline, I suggest that every so often someone take a quote from a vendor, drug rep, patient, and just put it up [without attribution] and let the fun begin.
I did note that Elaine has been unregistered - I assume thanks are in order to Bert !!
Wendell took care of this one. No, it should not be in the vendor section. The vendor section are for users (vendors) who are deemed to contribute a produce or knowledge that can be useful to AC users, without posting directly in the other forums.
I have wrestled with this one, but I have come to the conclusion that benign posts, even though they are advertising, may server a purpose by leaving them there. Since Jon can unban them, they could email Jon and, given his busy schedule, he may just reinstate them. This is a way to show they should be banned forever.
Plus, this company originates or at least Elaine does from China and gives us worldwide exposure.

I really was just kidding about the vendor section.....
For those that don't know or are not runners, I just wanted to state that barefoot running is actually proven to be good for you.
It helps with form and plantar fasciitis.
I still think it was an inappropriate post.
BTW, the newest MU that I heard about was that we now need to keep track of the exact amount of steps that each of our patients takes per day. This will according to the gov't will help determine a correlation between walking and pain and whether or not we should now recommend people to stop walking around so much and buy wheelchairs.
