I can run amazing charts on one computer; however as soon as I run two or more client computers all computers freeze at the same time. I wonder if there is some settings that I am missing. I am pointing each computer to the same database at the server box.

We had the similar problem for a long time. We went through checking the network, router, Vista issues and all for about a month, changed the router, had our IT guy spend about 4 hours. Finally was able to fix it. The problem was Norton. Amazing chart doesn't work with Norton. If you have Norton, definitely that is the problem. Get rid of it. You have to remove it completely, go to Symantec website and download Norton removal tool to remove it from the computer. Divak

Thank you very much. I do have Norton running on all stations.
I wonder if the Amazing Chart personnel are aware of this problem.

AS much as I don't like Norton, it is a systems hog. At one time we were running Norton here and things work OK....Sort of. But try TrendMicro PC-cillin. Very good, they update like every 3 or 4 hours and your computers should like it better too. Theres also Kerpinski that is supposed to be awesome in terms of protection with hourly updates, but I have yet to try it. Anybody out there try that yet???
But no matter what security package you use, you've got to set it up so traffic can flow while still protecting things. It's all in those pescky advanced settings...And if going wireless, lock that sucker down good and tight.

We use Avast! and Zone Alarm. We never have any problems.

felix, While Symantec can be a royal pain in the [censored] and conflict with software programs, I would be careful before uninstalling it from every PC especially if you have paid for updates for a year. We run Symantec Corporate Edition from our server which is a centralized version and run the client antiviral programs. We have NEVER had a problem. So, before just jumping to MMR causes Autism, troubleshoot a bit more. Divak: Did your problem turn out not to be the router? I recall when you had this issue you had stated the following: ===== Myself and our IT guy was finally able to figure out the problem. It is the Router. I had Linksys WRT GL wireless router, which worked fine for the wireless internet part, but poorly with in-office network. We changed it to Linksys RV042 wired router, everything worked great in all three computers and also was very fast. ====== So, I guess I am no help at all

Bert, Sorry, you definitely helped us going through all the steps. I did disable the firewall of the Norton, went throught wired network, problem continued. Finally after uninstalled my Norton 360, everything is running smoothly. I paid for that for 3 years, but still have to let it go and loose the money. Mostlikely problem with Norton 360, was its built in off site backup system. Any way now we have AVG antivirus running. Divak

AVG is excellent. Was it Symantec you had or Norton? They are no longer the same. Norton was great. Symantec is bad and getting worse. I am still tring to decide what to go with this year:
Sophos, AVG or Trend Micro. To be honest, most all of them stop viruses. AVG tends to update more quickly. It's just that you want them to stop viruses and not completely screw up your system, which seems to be Symantec's mantra.

I had bought Norton 360 for 3 computers. I didn't know Norton and Symantec are 2 different products. I am very happy with AVG. Divak

Try TrendMicro combined with a Netgear Router. My Netgear router can "see" almost all the details of my laptops on the system. They have some sort of a relationship and work really well together. Like I said, I get updates every 3-4 hours, so they are constantly hunting, finding and disarming threats all the time. Very Impressive. And like most packages these days you get 3 licenses on an internet security purchase. My little network has never been smoother....

I used AVG until I switched to Avast! AVG was a very good program.

I dislike they Symantec and Norton products - which are the same company.. I use a hardware firewall between the outside world and my office network, and generally have Microsoft's firewall junk turned off.
We do not allow Internet Explorer to be run by staff, which is the easiest way to eliminate the possibility of someone running an active-X control from an evil website. Browsing is to trusted sites only with Firefox.
All of our servers run Linux, with SAMBA (the windows file server program) set up for "share" level security.
With the above, all of our toys play well together :-)
