I perform x-rays and bone densities in my office. I dictate a note that goes in the radiology section of may chart so I can easily find it (as all radiology is usually seperate) as well as my notes from the day. Is there any way to have a seperate section for radiology (not just imported stuff)?

didn't get any response...guess no one knows?
How about if I open a new note under a different type of provider..is this possible...ex create a "radiology" provider and just add x-ray not in the big box....

Could you describe what you are trying to accomplish in more detail? Perhaps no one responded because we are not sure what you want to do.

If I am interpreting you correctly, you would like a tab separate from import items. No, that is not possible.
You can create a tab within the import items, say specifically for bone densities, but it will NOT be a universal tab for each patient. It would need to be recreated on each patient.
One of the minor things that would be nice.

The patient's expectation is that you have all the answers, sometimes they just don't like the answer you have for them

I understand what he is saying:
For those of us that do xrays in the office for ortho or sports med or whatever if you are going to bill for xray you need to have a seperate note in the chart. So he wants to see if there could be a different page in the chart for radiology dication kind of thing. technically to do a procedures you need to have a seperate note for procedures. right now i am just putting the procedures at the bottom of my plan part and put a thing in there that says PROCEDURE NOTE. but the question is will that count if we are audited.

Even more then an audit thing.
If a patient has a yearly dxa in the office or office x-rays...how do you find them....they are buried in the notes.
You are not uploading anything as it is done here and not written in report form yet.

Hey tceg, that's an interesting problem. Considering Ketan's comment, try this: While looking at the Current Encounter tab select File > Addendum. If you change the subject to X-ray/radiology/whatever you might get something similar to the behavior you want.
Then check the past encounters, it'll be listed separately like an encounter.
Does that help?

I do an addendum for even EKG's so that I have a separately identifiable result - then you can pull up last notes and see Results that way.

So at the risk of being redundant, but in the hope of helping with your planning, this is how I think of it.
AC basically lets you store a patient's documents in two places: Imported items and past encounters. You can put your report in either of these. To place them in Imported items, you create the report with the letter writer. Advantages: you can title it as you choose, and place it in a folder to sort them, so for example, EKG reports are grouped together. Disadvantages: the folder headings are not easily customizable (they must be changed patient by patient), and items can get "buried" if you have many imported items. To place them in Past encounters, you create them as an addendum. Advantages: they are listed neatly, chronologically and easy to see in the past encounters box. Disadvantage: they are all called "addendum" and are interspersed with notes and messages.
You might find that either works best for you. In my mind, improvements to the letter writer and ability to customize Imported Items folders would dramatically improve this aspect of the program and would make it more appealing to specialists in particular.
