I'm sorry if this has already been covered, but I hadn't seen it. Since the new ICD-9 diagnosis codes for 2011 became active 10/1, have they been updated and loaded into Amazing Charts? This is our first year with the program so I'm not sure how these go in.
Thanks!
Amber

The ICD-10 has been postponed and will not be started until maybe 2013

Not ICD-10, ICD-9 for year 2011. The updated codebook released each year with code revisions for that year mandated into effect on 10/1 of previous year. Example: We were using the ICD-9 code book for 2010 starting on 10/1/09. We are now required to use the updated version of that, the ICD-9 codeset for 2011, as of Friday, 10/1/10 and will continue to use it until it is updated for 2012 on 10/1/11.
Thanks for your help.

I dropped a line to AC and will report back when I hear from them - this usually has occurred with version updates and I am not sure how they are doing this now.

Talked with AC and they are planning on including update to ICD-9's in next build (little bit late), but hope to do this soon.

Bummer that it's late as this may mean some wasted time on claim rebills for errors but glad they will be rolling it out soon. Thanks for the info Steven, it is much appreciated.

Amber,
We use EncoderPro Online from Ingenix so we can stay current on our codes. We started with books but it was just too much to look up everything. We check the most common codes we use and keep those current. I hope AC gets them into the next build soon

I use Officeally as a clearing house and diagnoses codes can be checked on their website. If the clearing house website doesn't pull up a diagnosids code based on the description I enter, I enter the description on google search, get the diagnosis code and than enter the diagnosis code on the office alley website to confirm it is still active.
