Hello! Here's a situation that I'd like to ask you pro users of Amazing Charts about. At our practice it is critically important to track the number of scripts written for all patients seen by each individual doctor in the past 30 days.

I had thought about the potential ways to track this and the best solution I can come up with is to search in the reports section for all patients that 1) Seen by Dr. X 2) Seen in the last 30 days and 3) Seen under a particular diagnosis code.

HOWEVER this is somewhat inaccurate as the number of patients is determined by the number of active scripts the doctor has, and he could potentially write a patient for 1 day worth of medication or 30 days.

Do you AC gurus have any suggestions or ideas for a more logistically sound way of tracking these scripts that doctors write in Amazing Charts?

It sounds like you are using the number of prescriptions written bu a doctor in the last 30 days as a stand-in for some other function. In converting from your previous bean counting system it might work to count a different bean?
Every time the doctor writes a prescription they could also enter an "order" and send it to the "front desk in-box" that says "prescription written". These orders could be kept in the "results pending" file, counted and "completed" at the end of every month. Could also send as a message to the bean counter's in-box. This tracking method would add 3 clicks to the task of writing a prescription....but, if that is how you get paid...what the heck.
